ARCADE is a retail concept shop brought to you by the community behind A Current Affair. Our online shop features a weekly release of hand-picked vintage.
This is a unique hybrid role for someone with knowledge in both product listing on the Shopify e-commerce platform and inventory management. Responsible for overseeing online sales, as well as assisting with inventory and daily uploads — with the help of our e-commerce team.
Required Experience and Characteristics
- 1 year of product listing experience at a clothing retail/e-commerce brand is required. Vintage clothing copywriting experience is a plus
- Deep understanding of fashion styles and terminology. An awareness of fashion eras, trends, and movements is key
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of inventory system, keeping track of all inventory being transfered
- Creative copywriting, grammar, spelling, written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, including Google Sheets
- Must have a foundational understanding of the eCommerce industry/landscape. Knowledge of Shopify and CSV product file system is a plus
- Ability to turnover high-quality work quickly and efficiently
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn and grow
- Digitally savvy and tech-savvy, willing and capable to learn new software
Duties and Responsibilities
- Write compelling, selling, and creative copy for product listings, including the description of each product, an assessment of its condition, and full measurements
- Create product listings using a spreadsheet, upload products and photos
- Work directly with product photographer to ensure that all products are photographed correctly
- Appraise and edit your own work, and bring a sharp eye for detail
- Write copy based on strategy, concept/idea, target audience, brand voice, and brand guidelines
- Research products and translate into informed, accurate and technical writing
- Curate collections and releases and merchandise website to optimize sales
- Keep an organized inventory system and track and process merchandise as it comes in
- Able to physically move inventory between eCommerce office to store
- Manage product that needs repair or cleaning
- Shipping products and orders
- Update managers regarding issues and recommendations for improvement or correction
- Full-time or hourly employee

The Product Photographer is responsible for producing high quality digital images of products and models. The Product Photographer is also tasked with keeping the photo studio organized, accessible and safe for Photography staff.

Responsibilities:
- Photograph products and/or models to be used on Arcade Shops Vintage E-Commerce site. Edit and upload product images on the same day using Lightroom
- Have a network of models and be able to communicate with models for photoshoots
- Arrange still life objects, products, props, and backgrounds in order to create the desired photographic effect
- Edit and upload photos on the same day when taking photoshoots with models
- Ensure a high level of technical quality and aesthetics for all photography created and distributed
- Provide creative support to other Photographers on assignments
- Organize the photography studio so that all props and equipment are quickly and safely accessible. Clean-up and organization will be done on a daily bases
- Maintain photography equipment by providing routine maintenance on cameras, lenses, etc.
Qualifications:
- BFA in Photography or equivalent experience in digital studio photography required
- Must have at least 2 years of work experience as a digital photographer in a studio environment in which studio lighting was utilized
- Must have a working knowledge of Panasonic digital cameras
- Must be proficient with Macintosh operating system, Lightroom, Photoshop, and Dropbox
- Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with constantly shifting priorities
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule and 8+ hours on certain days to meet the needs of the business
- Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 10 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand, and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
